Mary Beth Marks, PhD Vice President Research

But wait, there’s more! When you meet Mary Beth, you quickly discover there’s so much more she has to offer than her title implies. She’s more than just an expert in audience research. More than just a wiz at analysis. She’s a big picture thinker with an in-depth understanding of the challenges facing local television today. She’s an innovator who brings creativity to problem-solving. But that’s not all! Wait until you see her experience.

Prior to joining CJ&N, Mary Beth ran her own successful company specializing in research, consulting and talent development. She has worked with companies such as McGraw-Hill Broadcasting, KCRA-TV/Sacramento, NBC-owned stations, KCPQ/Seattle and many others.

She also worked for Kelly Broadcasting, first as Director of Corporate Research and Development and later as Vice President of Marketing for Kelly News and Entertainment.

Plus...Mary Beth has worked to develop research and strategy for some of the most successful entertainment programs on television. She served as a Senior Consultant in Los Angeles for Frank N. Magid Associates, working with clients like Twentieth Television, NBC, MTM, Paramount Domestic Television, Group W, and Warner Brothers. (Her past experience includes several years as Director of Research Development at Magid too).

Mary Beth earned a Master’s and PhD. in psychology from the University of Colorado, Boulder. After graduation, she taught consumer behavior at the University of Michigan School of Business.
